In a time of uncertainty, Jordyn Castor, developer at Apple, advocate with the National Federation of the Blind, and lemon-bar lover shares with us 3 hacks of how to do the things that scare us. Most people struggle with analysis paralysis in general, but many tend to feel even more frozen during 2020. We want to offer you some encouragement and hacks to control your life this year and not the other way around!
A COMEPLUM CHAT WITH JORDYN CASTOR
Here are three practical hacks that will help you #doitscared.
1. Allow Yourself To Be Curious
- Doing this helps us become educated and gain knowledge
- This allows us to take steps into things that we do not feel as comfortable with and get the process started
- Allowing ourselves to experience the feeling of feeling uncomfortable then allows us to learn and grow
- It’s important to lean in deeper the more you want to run
“The unknown is always scary, but when I find that I lean in and really learn, that’s when I grow the most” – Jordyn Castor
2. Give The Effort
- Give whatever it is that you’re leaning into the effort that it requires
- When we don’t put in the room and effort, we will not achieve the desired results
- Remember that you are more than what you do for work, it’s important to remember to live and experience life
- Giving yourself enough space and enough time is a great way to experience fulfillment
- When we rush through life, we are easily robbed of joys
3. Fulfill Your Passions
- It’s important to allow yourself to fail + get back up + learn from those mistakes, sis
- When results don’t come out as planned, that creates a great avenue for creative solutions while still enjoying your passion
- You love and put your heart into your passions so it’s important to allow yourself to grow
- Try it scared, give it your all and see what happens
