The first day of Fall has come and gone which means the holidays will be here before you know it! Get your refrigerators ready for some beautiful updates from your friends around the world 🙂  I am teaming up with my gal pal Carly Mask to do holiday mini sessions in San Francisco October 28 and 29. You can reserve your spot here.

But now that you’ve RSVP’d here some insider hacks to make your holiday photo session a woot-woot of a time:

1. Have Realistic Expectations

Young kids and toddlers are going to act their age.
Don’t expect them to be perfectly still. Let kids be kids!

2. Figure Out to Wear

Check out this blog post that will help you look fly but not too matchy-matchy. Dress in way that comfortable for your family and matches the environment. And TLDR: blue looks good on everyone.

3. Make It Personal

Bring a prop! Perhaps it’s a giant letter representing your last name or maybe we photograph you doing a family hobby such as playing frisbee or kicking around a soccer ball. Or even bring little Fido! We love puppies.

4. Get Everyone Excited, Bring a Treat

If you have a young child, it helps to bring a noise maker (or giving us a heads up that your little loves keys!) or one of their favorite toys that we can hold close to our camera to engage their attention. But also let’s associate photo time with good things by using positive reinforcement. Perhaps make a family date of it! Smitten Ice Cream post photo session? Uh-huh. Should you invite your photographers too? Yes, please.

BONUS

Oh surprise, we even got your back for printing your holiday cards!
We love love love the paper quality and design aesthetic from our friends at Minted.
Use our discount code: PHOTOPROCOMEPLUM for 15% off your order.
