August was a magical month. And Janelle and Andrew’s wedding at Saratoga Springs (one of my favorite Northern California wedding venues) was the perfect way to wrap up the summer.
The way Andrew looks at and hugs Janelle (when it’s not an over-the-top silly face, which is very much part of Andrew’s personality) with a confident sense of “I know you” just gives this photographer goosebumps.
And Janelle and her family had significant threads woven throughout the day. But literally. Her mom spent months sewing Janelle’s wedding dress. But really.
And then another goosebump-inducing part of the story: during the bride & groom portrait session we captured a magnificent portrait of Janelle resting on Andrew’s chest. Unknowingly, we were recreating Janelle’s mother’s bridal photo. Once I sent the Janelle and Andrew these edited photos, she was delighted to see this shot. Her mom then forwarded me a photo of herself on her wedding day resting her head similarly. hashtag legacy.
